Starting with distance and visual barriers, this class teaches a variety of exercises that fall within 4 basic strategies for navigating neighborhood walks with a reactive dog.

With the help of Leash Reactivity #1 exercises, students practice exercising the best judgment and correct strategies while helping their dogs better navigate leash walks while occupying spaces closer to other dogs.

This class has a progressive approach allowing students with a varied set of more advanced skill levels to be challenged in achieving personal goals of reliability, consistency, and responsiveness to cues along with an introduction to some fun sports.

In this intial session you will begin teaching your dog to love searching and prepare him for finding the odor source. This activity is energy expending, confidence-building, and offers great bonding opportunities -- all while your dog gets to be a dog.

Criteria for enrollment:  At least five months of age; No experience with or not yet working with odor; While your dog will not be socializing or interacting with other dogs and we will make some use of visual barriers, instruction will be given in a class setting so your dog must be reasonably comfortable in a class setting with other dogs.

Bring to Class:  a piece of walking/working equipment different from whatever you use to walk your dog; a six-foot leash; lots of small, soft, smelly treats including table food like cheese, chicken, hotdogs etc)

Students will be introduced to the basics of working their dogs on order in a variety of search areas including interior, exterior, containers, and the exterior of vehicles.

Ready to have some fun with your best friend both in and out of the snowy weather this winter? Each week we will learn different games for the days it is too cold to go out and add some fun ways to up your game on manners and obedience. Make sure winter is just as fun as spring for your pooch. We will include some indoor sports and wait, leave it, stay, drop it, recall, targeting, fetch basics. All ages and stages welcome.
